Introducing our fourth cohort of businesses
As we approach our second birthday, we’re thrilled to share the details of the startups who’ve joined us for our fourth cohort.
This time, five businesses were successful in their application to our incubator, and have already begun to tap into the resources and support our programme provides.

Learneast is a Chinese learning app, developed by Durham University graduate Mei Jiang.
The app helps users practice and improve their Chinese language and cultural learning, and provides users with unique experiences in comparison to similar applications.
Eventurstar is run by New College Durham graduate Danielle Sigley and aims to be a one stop shop for all event needs via an online platform, taking the stress out of the planning process.
The platform will operate as both an event planning tool and an event supplier, to assist its customers at every stage of the planning process for any type of occasion.
Grape is an innovative food technology platform that aims to transform the food industry by reducing costs, time and making food hygiene more efficient via a platform that brings together a range of different stakeholders, including local authorities, caterers and more.
Rural Business Network
Proud farmer, Jo Martin, founded Rural Business Network, a membership organisation for rural businesses across the UK to gain knowledge and inspiration, find resources and make connections to help start and grow their business.
Leveraging data and AI to make high-quality education universally accessible. Education Equation is a self-learning platform coupled with analytics, to identify when to supplement 1-1 tutoring. The data-driven platform aids better grades at lower prices.
